Sidney Cooper Workshop No 4

More joy for the printmakers on our
last workshop of the day! We had
lots of diversity, colour and happy
printers leaving the Sidney Cooper
gallery yesterday. Again a big thank
you to Ruth McDonald, Hannah and
Teresa who worked so hard in making
this such a success and to everyone
who joined in and made this so much
fun for all of us. Not forgetting
Hazel and Harriet for inviting us to
the Sidney Cooper and making this all
possible.

Sidney Cooper Workshop No 3

More creative print making produced by
our students during our Wednesday morning
workshop in Canterbury. We experimented
with screen printing using photographic
stencils with transparent ink and mono
printing using a variety of mark making
ideas to create texture and pattern. Well
done everyone!

Sidney Cooper Workshop No 2

Here are some brilliant examples of prints
produced by a very enthusiastic group of
students on Tuesday afternoon at The Sidney
Cooper Gallery, many of whom had never
printed before!

The Sidney Cooper Workshop No 1

To coincide with The Print Block
collaboration with the Sidney Cooper
Contemporary Print Fair we were
asked if we could provide some
printing workshops in Canterbury.
Over 2 days we held 4 workshops
which proved very popular and we
had some amazing feedback which
was lovely.
These are examples of work by our
first class. The screen printing
taught by Suki and Karen focused
on colour transparency & pattern
making and the monoprinting taught
by Ruth McDonald introduced them
to colour, pattern, texture and
her expertise for mark making.

We would like to thank our brilliant
and lovely volunteers Teresa and
Hannah who worked tirelessly
juggling buckets of water,
hairdryers and a host of other
useful things which were invaluable
in making our workshops run so
smoothly. Also a big thank you to
Hazel and Harriet at The Sidney
Cooper Gallery for being so
supportive and for giving us the
opportunity to teach printmaking
in such a lovely big space!
